Csaba: Hearts Must Beat Inverness

Csaba: Hearts Must Beat Inverness

A win for Hearts in tomorrow's home match with Inverness Caley Thistle is of paramount importance to the side, according to manager Csaba Laszlo.

The team lost for the second time in the SPL under Laszlo last weekend at Falkirk, and although the second half performance in that game probably merited at least a point for Hearts, the bottom line is that it was zero points taken from a venue that the team really should have been looking for three.

That result makes a victory in tomorrow's match even more important than normal in order to get things going again, something that clearly has not been lost on the manager. He said:

'It wasn't a disaster against Falkirk but there were a lot of disappointed people after the match.

'It was a good learning process for the team, they must learn the game doesn't last 85 or 90 minutes, it lasts until it is finished.

'A lot of people told me afterwards that we lost but we were so good. Being good doesn't mean you take the points. Nice football is nothing.

'To dominate on the pitch is nothing - success is the team winning. If you win 1-0 everyone is happy, nobody says you had a bad game. Winning is all that matters.

'I don't have dreams, only clear target points and for this I work very hard. Falkirk had two shots at goal and scored two goals and this is something we must stop happening. We must concentrate home and away.

'In all my life I don't look for problems, only solutions. I hate people who always come to me with problems but never tell me a solution.

'The spirit is good and we must look to win tomorrow.'

I'm not sure I can agree that Hearts were quite as impressive as some people have been making out here at Falkirk last weekend, but they were certainly unlucky to come away from the match with nothing.

It is encouraging to hear Csaba talking in these terms, though. I think it's healthier having a manager who is always looking for more from his team, rather than a guy who always seems to dwell on the bad breaks and the fact that we never got what we deserved. Csaba is right - it IS all about winning, and that does have to happen for Hearts in tomorrow's match.

Speaking of the Inverness game, Hearts continue to have Deividas Cesnauskas, Andy Driver, David Obua and new signing Mike Tullberg unavailable through injury. However the latter is due to resume full training next week along with long-term absentee Bruno Aguiar, which is obviously good news. Michael Stewart and Hristos Karipidis should be fit for the match after injury doubts this week.

The UK's match of the day tomorrow? Oh yes.....!
