Scottish Premiership - Hearts 5-1 Inverness CT

Hearts' Scottish Premiership season continued with a win against Inverness at Tynecastle on Saturday.

A first Premiership win of the season was secured by Hearts in emphatic fashion with Inverness thrashed five-one.

Cowie had Hearts ahead inside the first 10-minutes when he finished a good team move with his cross into Sammon headed in to double the lead inside 20-minutes.

Hearts' third, and Cowie's second, when Sammon set him up wrapped up the points but the Jambos weren't done with two-goals in a minutes from Nicholson making it five heading into the final 10-minutes.

Inverness had a consolation three-minutes from time with Paterson credited with an own goal in some quarters, Caley's Draper credited with it from others with Djoum also hitting the post for Hearts in the last minute.

Here's a round up of the Scottish Premiership action from the other matches played.

Celtic, who do have an early game in hand, briefly returned to the top of the Premiership when they followed up an impressive Champions League win with a four-two win at St Johnstone.

That lead was wrestled back by Rangers later in the day on Saturday when a two-one win against Motherwell at Ibrox saw them return to the summit.

Hearts produced the most emphatic win though with a five-one mauling of struggling Inverness at Tynecastle.

Aberdeen and Ross County will also be happy enough with the weekend works with wins against Partick and Kilmarnock, respectively, on home soil.
