Hearts Sign Gogua

Local news has confirmed that Hearts have now added the signing of Georgian Gogita Gogua to the acquisition of Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston.

Both players are in the process of being registered with the SFA and have trained with Hearts today ar Riccarton. I think it would be a big boost if they were available for this weekend's crucial match at Ibrox, but it depends how long the SFA want to stall doesn't it?! Having said that, given their relationship with Walter Smith these days, you'd think that the SFA would be doing all they can to help Rangers get a doing!

Gogua is 23 years old and signs from Lokomotiv Moscow. Many believe that he could have been signed to replace Julien Brellier, so if that is the case then all I can say is he'd better be good! For me Brellier was never given a proper chance at Tynecastle and it would be a shame to think that one of the best players we've ever had in that position is allowed to leave the club to be replaced by someone inferior. But let's not pre-judge the new guy - hopefully he's the business.

Strange that everyone is reporting that we've signed both Kingston and Gogua, but nothing on the Hearts website yet?

Not sure why that would be. They've probably got a few formalities not quite tied up yet and would prefer it all to be done and dusted before releasing an official statement.
